By far the number one question I’ve answered since Friday is “where do I get that pattern?!”

Braided Kaleidoscope is available only in Fat Quarterly E-Zine, Issue 8.

I’ll be showing off the actual piece in tomorrow’s Talk To Me Tuesday. I think you’ll all be surprised when you see it’s actual size!

In recent weeks, I’ve been dubbed Teasing McTeaser by a good friend of mine.

You see, I keep dropping hints in my blog and on Talk To Me Tuesday (TTMT  for short) that I have would have something super awesome to share soon.

Finally, today, NOW, I get to share one of those awesome things! Yes, I said one…there will be more surprises in the weeks (and months!) to come!

Braided Kaleidoscope

I designed a brand new 12″ paper pieced block for Fat Quarterly, a fantastic Ezine for quilters!

Issue 8 – Paper, is where you will find Braided Kaleidoscope (pg 29 & 30). Paper Piecing, English Paper Piecing and Freezer Paper all make an appearance and all the projects are just fantastic!

Subscribers can access their issue today, and it will be available for sale to non-subscribers on Monday. You can see the full (and very talented!) list of contributors right here.

So far I’ve fed my guys and gotten them out the door, I’ve packed two lunches, dropped one kid off at school, made two loaves of banana bread for a school project and washed two loads of laundry.

I might also have answered a dozen or so emails. And worked on some graphics. And a pattern. And possibly done some recycling.

It’s 10:30 now, so I might take a break. It’s my day off, really!

If you watched TTMT this week, you saw the InuYasha quilt in progress on my design wall, my second 12 for 2012 project. There were three sections that I was planning to stencil.

Yesterday, I decided one of them really needed to be embroidered.

Thank you Project of Doom for my current mad embroidery skills!

This is, to my knowledge, the only time the two main characters ever kiss in the series. I know for darn sure it’s my fangirl’s favorite scene!

We’ve had two sewing days in the last month where Linus volunteers get together to stitch quilt tops. Usually, these tops are pre-cut and ready to sew together. Sometimes it’s a pre-printed panel that just needs borders or a donation of pre-made blocks. These sewing days are always a lot of fun and we get tons accomplished.

After piecing the quilt tops, they go off to our fabulous long-arm quilters who do a beautiful job quilting them for us.

Scrappy Brick Quilt, a favorite pattern for work days

This was my first new crochet project for 2012. These were all yarns that were donated to Linus in December. I brought home a tangled snarl of yarns and turned them into this. It’s all double stranded, DC, and super simple, but I really like how squishy and soft it is!

Pieced at the January sewing day. This top and the following were pieced out of a huge assorted stack of funky 5 1/2″ pre-cuts fabrics. I just grabbed and stitched! The string pieced blocks were in the stack, too.

This was a panel that was cleverly puzzle-pieced together by Osie. She did the cutting, I did the stitching.

Now that Papa Bear is complete, I’ve turned my Thursday attention to February’s UFO (2/12), my daughter’s InuYasha quilt.

I’ve started sorting and cutting, have figured out what fabric will go where and have started adding the interfacing to the back of the tees so they can be pieced in.

I’ve decided to have this one professionally quilted once I’m done, which relieves a lot of pressure for me. My daughter will be 17 on her birthday and this is the first bed size I’ve made for her. She’s very much looking forward to it!
