Braided Kaleidoscope, Fat Quarterly E-Zine, Issue 8

I just discovered your website, blog and videos. Even though I am much older, your creations and talent are a pleasure to see. After sewing garments since my teen years, I only started quilting a year ago and find myself more attracted to art quilts, fabric painting, etc. I surfed my way to you via ByKate. My questions is whether you plan to be at the International Quilt Festival in Houston? Also any links or shops you like in Houston area? I listened twice to the paper piecing video because of Beethoven’s Sonata! I’ll always remember the music when paper piecing. Thanks.
Hi Carmen,
Thanks so much for your lovely comments!
There is a chance I will be in Houston this year, but I will not be part of a booth. If I do make it, I will make sure and share here on my blog and hopefully get to have a quick hello with some of my online friends!
Unfortunately, most of my quilt store knowledge is concentrated around Austin. If you’re ever in the area, be sure and let me know and I can tell you when I’ll be at Honey Bee!
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer,
I’ve been working steadly away for a year to so from your Harry Potter site and its wonderful patterns and I now have Connie’s ( Owlsea) Hogwart’s castle quilt finished. I have used many of Connie’s patterns, many of yours and some of the other designers. I have a photo of the finished quilt and about 18 closeups of quilted blocks. I’d love to post them or send them to you to see, but don’t know where to send them. Let me know if you’d like to see them. Thanks, Ellen
Of course I would love to see photos! You’re welcome to post them to our flickr group or to email them directly to me – sewhooked@gmail.com.
