With a little help from the imagination of my creative and helpful kiddo, Gareth, I drafted this adorable, whimsical Halloween-inspired wall hanging. It would work great as is, which is to say as a wall hanging, or could be incorporated into another project.
It finishes 9 1/2″ x 12 1/2″, but would make a 9″ x 12″ block if used in a bigger project.
I must apologize to Gareth for not cleaning up the scan better before sharing it. I asked what he thought of when I said “wonky haunted house,” and seriously, he sketched this in about 2 minutes! He usually spends ages on his drawings and will probably not be pleased that I posted this sketch. In apology to Gareth, here is one of my favorites that he’s drawn and shared online.
I’ve done something with this pattern that I’ve not tried before. Included are alternative pattern pieces/instructions for doing simplified versions of the windows. I was thinking if you had some awesome little print of owls or cats or something, they would be really cute fussy cut into the door and/or windows. I’m going to make an alternative version to show my class and hopefully not scare anyone away with the tiny pieces in the broken window.
