General Quilting Supplies
- Juki TL-2010Q High Speed Straight Stitch sewing machine* (includes extension table)
- Sullivan’s The Cutting Edge 24″ x 27″ self-healing cutting mat*
- Olfa 45mm Ergonomic Rotary Cutter* – for all my rotary cutting needs. I keep one for paper (dull blades) and one for fabric (new blades).
- Creative Grids Rulers – these are my favorite quilting rulers and I use them for marking when making doll clothes. Find them at your favorite quilt store. Beware buying from Amazon as they have had issues with counterfeits.
- My Homemade Spray Starch OR Mary Ellen’s Best Press*
- Gingher Embroidery Scissors* – my favorite small scissors
- Fiskars Easy Action Scissors * – spring-loaded scissors
- Havel Ultra Pro Seam Ripper* – scalpel seam ripper used for tricky embroidery removal
- Taylor Seville Magic Flat Head Pins* – easy to grip and won’t melt!
- Sewing Clips*- handy for thick or unusual seams
- Round Magnetic Bowls* in fun colors! – for pins, because I love color!
- Frixion Erasable Pens* – for marking features as needed
Sewline Mechanical Fabric Pencil*- also really good for marking on fabric. Erases or washes out
Tools I Love for Paper Piecing

- Add-A-Quarter 6″ Ruler* – for trimming seams to 1/4″ as you go.
- Add-A-Quarter 12″ Ruler* (the 12″ is by far my most used ruler)
- Add-A-Quarter Plus 6″ Ruler* – Includes straight edge for folding your pattern (instead of a postcard)
- Add-A-Quarter Plus 12″ Ruler*
- Add-An-Eighth 6″ Ruler* – for grading seam allowances
- Add-An-Eight Plus 8″ Ruler*
- My Homemade Spray Starch OR Mary Ellen’s Best Press* – use sparingly if the paper is still attached to your block or you will end up with a soggy mess!
- Steamfast Mini Iron – this is my go-to iron for pressing when I paper piece. Since 2018, I’ve struggled with carpal tunnel, and this tiny lightweight iron has been a huge help!

- OxiClean* – for general cleaning and stain removal
- OxiClean MaxForce Spray* – For soaking stains, etc.
- Any free & clear laundry detergent. I like 7th Generation.
- Woolite 3-piece mesh wash bag – to help keep the doll safe when soaking in a washing machine. You won’t need this if you hand wash.
- Coral Big Twist Yarn – makes great hair! (From my adding new hair tutorial)
- LoRan Needle Threader* – great yarn, embroidery thread, etc.

- Clover Chaco Chalk Roller*- great for marking lines for clothing patterns, washes out.
- Sewline Mechanical Fabric Pencil*- also really good for marking on fabric. Erases or washes out.
- Clover “Chacopy” Tracing Paper – great for transferring circles and other shapes on fabric. Test first to make sure it will wash out of your fabric.
- Crayola Fabric Marker* – used to color correct bleached-out eyes
- Raggedy Ann Stories* – buy the book or read it for free at Project Gutenberg
- Cairo-Quilt Lead Grey Thread – 50 wt. cotton thread
- Carbona Stain Devils Coffee, Tea, Wine, & Juice* – this is what I used to clean the super-stained Raggedy rescued from Austin Creative Reuse. Here’s a useful stain chart showing which product to use for what stain.
