Hello June! It’s the first of the month and that brings us the latest Paper Piecing Vintage pattern!
This month’s pattern is a sweet take on a quilting classic. I call mine Sweet Basket.
As with all the blocks from PPV, Sweet Basket is entirely paper pieced and both 6″ and 12″ patterns are included.

Like many of the PPV blocks, the pieces for Sweet Basket are easy to pre-cut with a little measuring before you start.
Save some time by following these bonus directions for the 12″ block:
- Precut 6 – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ colored fabric for the basket handle.
- Cut 5 of those 2 1/2″ squares in half on the diagonal, creating 10 triangles.
- Leave one 2 1/2″ square whole (that’s the tippy top!)
- Cut 5 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ background color triangles. Cut in half on the diagonal, creating 10 triangles, also for the basket handle.
- Pin large background pieces of fabric to paper until the entire block is pieced.
- Have fun!
I have already received many wonderful 6″ signature block for the Paper Piecing Vintage Signature Quilt! I am getting computer virus alerts from your website and quiltmyphone.com
hope you can get it cleaned up
If your antivirus is like mine, it sometimes tags affiliate links (links to websites where I will get paid an advertising fee if you go to) as viruses. Quilt My Phone and Craftsy are both affiliate links and may be setting off your virus alert. There’s nothing else on my end that should be causing problems. Sorry about that!
