Hi Jennifer!
I have been busy too! I would love to see a class on designing your own paper piecing patterns from a photo.
I worked on thesfortbeHoffman Challenge. Ihave to thread paint and quilt it myself. Wish me luck! I am scared to death!

A friend of mine created a very thorough tutorial on designing patterns from an existing image. She uses Quilt Assistant, but the technique is the same for whatever software you might use. I hope you find that helpful. 🙂 http://tweloquilting.blogspot.com/2015/09/sys-2015-tutorial-8-1-software-tools.html
Best of luck with thread painting! I’ve always found it fascinated and beautiful!
