Repair & Reuse (TTMT #839 – Quilting & Sewing Show & Tell)

This week’s Show & Tell is all about Repair & Reuse. I chat about an upcycled Switch case, the T-Shirt quilt rescue project, and a new repair project for an old bag, as well as some odds and ends.

If you’re looking to help those affected by the floods in Texas, these resources have been validated locally.

I am continuing to make updates to my website, especially the pattern and tutorial archives. Lots of older patterns and tutorials have already been added back to the archives with lots more on the way!

Hey Jen! Holy moly, that tshirt quilt repair is going to be interesting. Looking at the binding you took off, was that bias or non bias binding? I’m getting ready to bind the wedding quilt and considered making bias binding, but I just don’t like all the seams. I did see a bias binding ruler that I’m wondering if it would help in reducing the number of sewing seams compared to the triangle method. Have fun !

Hey lady! This is just regular old double fold binding. I have made bias, but I only use it if I HAVE to. In the past, I’ve used the tube method so unfortunately I don’t have an eductated opinion on the binding ruler. Can’t wait to see what you do!
