In which I deviate from my plan of EPIC VIDEO AWESOME to talk about the happenings of the last couple of days.

There were teenagers DDRing in the room next to my usual filming location, so I’m in the corner of my bedroom for this one, just in case you’re curious!

Thank you, thank you to everyone that stepped up to support indie designers and put your foot down against the violation of selling free patterns without permission!

Thank you for not being afraid to speak up and take action. If we don’t say something to protect ourselves and our crafty friends, who will?

Random Monday Thoughts

Thank you to every single person that has helped spread the word about the pattern theft that has taken place against Fandom In Stitches and many of my designer friends.

I have taken as many measures as I can to rectify the situation and can now only wait and see what happens. Your support of myself and the online crafty community is much appreciated!

On a more positive note, I mailed off a super secret project this over the weekend. I wonder what it could be?!

Los Angeles Needleworks is selling PATTERNS AVAILABLE FOR FREE taken from all over the internet, including those from Fandom In Stitches and more.

Please, PLEASE support your indie designers and free patterns online and DO NOT purchase anything from them. We would very much appreciate it you could spread the word and help stop this theft.

An email I received earlier in the week prompted me to pull out a pattern I had not yet posted to share with the paper piecing masses.

There’s something classic and lovely about a fleur-de-lis.

I love the simplicity of this block and how easily it could be combined with other patterns for a personalized project. Imagine it paired with hearts, or the Eiffel Tower….

I love this version, which includes 2 – 6″ fleur-de-lis with 2 6″ squares to create a 12″ block.

How about a simple wall hanging or quilt made using only purples?

Here’s another layout with purple. Why purple? I don’t know, it seemed the thing to do!

In the coming months, I will slowly be moving all my non-fandom patterns to my Craftsy shop and discontinuing my e-junkie store.
