I’ve very excited to share my block for Vol. 14, Bettie’s Bikini (pg. 22)!
This block was inspired by pin-up model Bettie Page after I read that she made all of her own swimwear and lingerie.
While not a replica of any specific suit, this bitty bikini made in reproduction fabrics reminds me of Bettie’s signature style!
Just like all of my patterns, Bettie’s Bikini was designed in EQ7.
And now, I have the pleasure of giving away a free copy of this issue of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks! To enter to win, simply comment below! It doesn’t get easier than that.
Only comments that include contact information will be eligible to win.

A very special thanks to each and every person that commented for a chance to win a free copy of this issue from Quiltmaker. There were lots of great comments, but only one winner!
EDITED TO ADD: My first winner, Diane S., was the lucky winner of two drawings. Each person can only win one magazine, so I had the fun opportunity to choose another winner.
Congratulations to bobkat, our second-chance winner for the free copy of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, Vol. 13! Please check your email for instructions on how to claim your prize. 🙂

And here we are: You’ll find Paddlin’ on page 20 of Vol. 13!
These birds were inspired by a design I created some years ago, but never published. It wasn’t quite right, but I loved the birds! If you look closely, you’ll see the “Momma” bird from Paddlin’ is sitting on the ground, while the “babies” are up on the line.
Just for fun, I put together a small quilt idea using four blocks,, two of which are in mirror image. I just love the wreath-inside-a-window effect!
Just like all of my patterns, Paddlin’ was designed in EQ7.

I’m extra excited to share today’s patterns because it’s not only one of my favorite things I’ve shared with Quiltmaker, but it’s one of my favorite patterns that I’ve ever designed!
I had such fun creating this block and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Here it is: Special Delivery!
You’ll find this red-wearing fella and his sleigh full of presents on page 19 of Vol. 12.
To add a to the fun, I embellished my block with hand embroidery (patterns included in the magazine).
How about a snowflake? Here in Austin, Texas, it’s likely to be the only snow I see this year!
I also had a lot of fun playing with Special Delivery and combining this block with some of my other designs to see what kind of fun quilt layouts I could come up with.
Here are two of my favorites:
Here, Special Delivery meets my reindeer block, On, Dasher!for a fun Christmas-themed table runner.
This layout is a bit more ambitious, with the same number of blocks as the table runner, but with the reindeer set in an arc. I just love this idea! Imagine this with a fun snowflake print fabric or lovely hand embroidered embellishments like oodles of snowflakes and reins for the reindeer team!
Today is Show & Tell for the pattern testers and designers! Be sure to visit these fun blogs to check out all some of the incredible projects made from out Row Along!
If you remember way back to three weeks ago, my Spring row looks like this! I couldn’t resist coming back this week for a little show & tell!
I used the blocks from my row to create the super fun baby quilt to donate to my favorite blanket charity based right here in Austin, Texas, The Linus Connection. I donated my very first blanket back in 2002 and have been going strong ever since. The blankets and quilts go to children in crisis in Central Texas and I’m proud to be a long time volunteer! ❤

Today is your last day to enter the Northcott Bundle, a $25 Fat Quarter Shop gift certificate or a free copy of my very own Paper Piecing Vintage! Details are here!
Spring is my favorite season. The winter blues are driven away, the trees begin to bud, spring babies are born and the earth begins to turn green again!
My idea was to celebrate my favorite season with baby chicks, fresh out of their eggs, pecking around the grass and flowers for something good to eat.
Every pattern in my row is a 6″ (6 1/2″ unfinished) paper pieced block. Follow the instructions in the pattern to make this row, or mix and match to make your own fun row or other quilty project!
I’m absolutely loving the beautiful tonal white background fabric from Northcott! Anyone that visits regularly knows that I’m a bit of a Northcott junkie with Stonehenge being one of my all time favorite fabrics!
The entire row is paper pieced with optional embroidery or paint for the chicks’ eyes. I drew mine on using Tulip Fabric Markers.
Small pieces freak you out? Try chain piecing them!
PJ7 Pattern will be emailed upon request. Please contact sewhooked@gmail.com.
Another fun picture of my Spring row. 🙂
Want something completely different? The patterns for my row can also be turned into a fun quilt! I plan to make one very much like this for my favorite blanket charity, The Linus Connection.
