Free Pattern Friday – Space Swears

Hello, my friends!

Several years after completing a “Space Swears” quilt as a gift, I thought it was high time to share the individual word patterns.

Each Space Swear is a fictional expletive used in Science Fiction. Currently, I have words for Battlestar Galactica, Farscape, and Red Dwarf. I’m open to other suggestions if you have a favorite Sci-Fi swear!

These patterns were designed & tested by me, Jennifer Ofenstein, @sewhookedjen, and have also been shared over on Fandom in Stitches. They are free for your personal use. Please do not reproduce or distribute these patterns or sell items made from these patterns. Your understanding is very much appreciated.

Today, I share new blocks made just for this quilt. These 6 simple paper pieced bookcase blocks are perfect for any bookcase quilt project. If you’re looking to make your own Fandom bookcase quilt, you can find a whole load of patterns on Fandom in Stitches. Look for “Bookcase Quilts” in the purple menu for a wide variety of options.

As I continue to work on the bookcase quilt for my husband, I’ve been sharing new designs here and on Fandom in Stitches, both free for your personal use.

Today I have Sting, Bilbo & Frodo’s sword featured in The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings.

Today I’m delighted to share my most recent contribution to the TTMT BOM. This is a revisit of two old favorites, one never before shared here on my website.

Originally used for a 2018 Block Swap, the Log Cabin below is a classic. I don’t claim the creation of this block, but I did write the instructions and share a paper pieced version for those who aren’t big fans of traditional piecing. The quilt I made from those original swap blocks is one of my great treasures!

A Sewhooked staple for well over a decade, Perfect Nine Patch Wonky Stars is one of my most used patterns.
