Welcome back to Free Pattern Friday!
As promised, we’re back to quilt patterns this week!
Today’s freebie, Chocolate Box, is a larger, simplified version of a traditional Garden Lattice block. It includes instructions for both a traditionally pieced 14″ finished block and a 6″ paper pieced pattern that can be enlarged if desired.
I’ve included everything you need to use directional fabrics for fussy cutting. I’ve made two quilts using this pattern so far and both were fussy cut to feature fun fabrics!
14″ pieced & 6″ paper pieced
Includes instructions to create a 70″ x 84″ quilt (below)

I created this 70″ x 84″ version for myself using fabrics from Australia that the lovely Cat Magraith gifted me over several years. I added Fossil Fern to create a lovely, snuggly quilt. The instructions to make this colorway are included.
This little quilt gave chocolate box its name. It was gifted to my friend Cat’s daughter.
Are you quilting along with Paper Piecing Vintage? Share a Signature Block for the PPV Signature Quilt! This special project is a for a commemorative signature quilt that I will keep after Paper Piecing Vintage has concluded. Find this block on page 21 of Paper Piecing Vintage. If you’re only making a few blocks, you can also find the Signature Block Pattern right here.

I would like to be able to comment on Fandom in Stitches, but, the settings have changed, and you can only comment if you are Google+ (not happening). Is there a way that the settings can be changed so that any regular Google account member can comment again?
I’m sorry to hear that, Cheryl. We had a lot of trouble with the old commenting system and had tons of spam issues, which is why I switched it over. Unfortunately, the only other option is the one we used before and it created a lot of work for the admins.
