Welcome back to Free Pattern Friday!
Did you know I have a thing about turtles?
I love turtles. I have turtle fabric, plush turtles, turtle doo-dads, and turtle geegaws.
Thanks to my sister, I even have a turtle niece!
Also, turtle patterns!
I originally created the cleverly-named Sea Turtle for a swap back in 2007. This sweet guy has been updated for 2017 with more defined flippers and a new (optional!) two-tone look.
Original Sea Turtle from 2007
The new version of Sea Turtle can be made as a 6″ or 10″ finished block. Make him one color or use the pattern shading to make him a lovely two color turtle.

What can you do with a sea turtle? How about making several in 10″ and combining them with a simple pieced block for a sweet child-sized quilt?
This quilt was mocked up for your viewing pleasure using Electric Quilt. 🙂

I love your sea turtle pattern…just what I have been looking for. However, I cannot figure out how to put it together 😦 Any suggestions?
Hi, Sheri. Do you need paper piecing instructions? If so, I have a video and links to tutorials here: https://sewhooked.com/paper-piecing-resources/
If that’s not what you’re looking for, let me know and I’ll do what I can to help.
