If you love quilting and The Princess Bride, definitely, absolutely go check out As You Wish over on my fandom quilt blog, Fandom In Stitches!

I’ve gathered some of my favorite designers together to bring you a quilt inspired by true love, pirates and epic sword fights! You want a quilt pattern to go with that? How about two?!

Come on, you know you need something to keep you busy while you wait for the next Paper Piecing Vintage block!

Buttercup embroidery peek

Today’s patterns were designed by Elizabeth at Such A Sew & Sew. This is a sneak peek of my own version of Elizabeth’s beautiful embroidery design! See both beautiful designs here!

Check back here on Sewhooked tomorrow for my 2013 UFO Recap and on Friday for my 2014 To Do List. There’s always more to do than I thought!

Hop!

Tomorrow is the first day of the annual Bluebonnet Patchwork Trail Shop Hop and Honey Bee Quilt Store, where I both work as a part-time employee and teach quilting classes, will be participating.

I’m excited to share this this shop hop will be a fun one! Without spilling the beans too much, I will let you know that My Magical Lens, the Harry Potter quilt I completed in 2007 is on display! If you’ll be in or around the Austin area, please stop by and have a look at one of my all-time favorite creations, the quilt that started my journey in the online quilt community.

My Magical Lens, 2007

I will be at Honey Bee all four days of the shop hop. Be sure and come by the store if you can. We’re having a lot of fun with this year’s theme and I think you’ll feel that when you get to the store! There are lots of great freebies as well as drawings for fantastic prizes at each store that participates.

Just a tip for first-timers! Bring a sheet of address labels for all the door prizes and raffle tickets you’re sure to need to fill out! It’ll save you writing your address over…and over…and over! You generally need your name, address, email & phone number so you can be tracked down in case you win!

Now, if I’m a little quiet the next few days, you’ll know just where to find me!

A Personal Update and Some Challenges

Wow, can it really be so long since I last posted?  I’m somewhat ashamed to realize how long it’s been since a new craft or pattern has graced the sewhooked blog.

I have been having a lot of Real Life lately, which I will be talking about here fairly soon.

In the meantime, I’d like to pimp two craft challenges, both for LiveJournal groups that I moderate or help moderate.

Twilight Crafts Challenge #5

There are new tutorials and a new paper pieced pattern in the works.  Until then, I remain yours craftily,

sewhooked blog – a new home

Just a quick update to test all your RSS feeds out there!

The sewhooked craft blog has moved from http://www.sewhooked.org/blog to blog.sewhooked.org.

I do apologize for the confusion and having to shuffle the links about.  I’ve left the Blogspot format in favor of WordPress and I think you’ll find the new format much friendlier and easier to navigate.

New crafts coming your way asap!
