❗❗❗SCAM ALERT – STOLEN QUILT PHOTOS❗❗❗

The quilt photo thieves are back. In late 2018, online sellers began to pop up claiming to sell fandom and other quilts.

They are back. The image captured here comes up when you search for “harry potter bookcase quilt.”

These quilt photos are STOLEN from Fandom in Stitches Designers or community members. The quilt listed as a “selvage bookshelf quilt” is my own Project of Doom, designed and made by me. No doubt there are other fandoms and creators whose work has been stolen.

The first time this happened, we spent many hours sending emails and requesting these fake products be taken down. Almost none of them were. The Better Business Business Bureau got involved and those businesses were shut down.

https://apnews.com/article/43b21aab7ee14693bc4564de5906c90e

Three years ago when this happened, I personally received angry messages from people who had spent money on what they thought were Harry Potter Bookcase quilts. They received NOTHING and thought that I was the one selling these quilts.

It saddens me that this has happened again. These companies are not in the U.S. and getting the websites taken down is almost impossible. What is NOT impossible is getting their ads blocked and alerting innocent people who think they are getting a bargain.

Please know that neither I nor Fandom in Stitches or its designers sell fandom quilts or quilt-related projects. We do not sell fandom patterns. We don’t sell photos of our work to use for reproduction. Our patterns are fan art created out of the love for our fandoms. All patterns shared on andominstitches.com are free for personal & non-profit use only.

If you see ads online for Fandom quilts or quilts you KNOW were made by a creator, please report them if at all possible.

Previously For Sale Patterns

Hello, friends! I stopped selling quilt patterns as of December 31, 2019, though I do continue to have requests for my previously for sale patterns. If you find yourself in need of one of my currently retired patterns, I will offer you the pattern in return for a small donation to a food bank, non-profit, or other similar charity in your area.

Email your receipt and I’ll be happy to send the pattern. Please, only one pattern per receipt.

Please note that my free patterns are still availble: Free Patterns, Free Fandom Patterns, Free Harry Potter Patterns.

Last Call

This is the last call for those of you who would like to purchase from the Sewhooked Pattern shop.

I will be permanently closing my shop TODAY, December 31, 2019, at approximately NOON Central Standard time.

I’d like to share a huge thank you to everyone who has supported my efforts and independent design over the last decade and a half.

As a reminder, my free patterns will continue to be available, but I will no longer be selling patterns and my current For Sale patterns will no longer be available. Sewhooked will continue to be my crafty home, but will no longer be a business. For more information, please see last week’s Talk to Me Tuesday.

See you later today in my video. Love and best wishes for a Happy New Year! ♥

20190301_103448

Hello, friends!

I’m participating in the #IGQuiltFest over on Instagram. Follow me – @sewhookedjen!

#IGQuiltFest is hosted by Amy’s Creative Side and encourages quilters on Instagram to share photos daily using a variety of prompts during March for National Sewing Month!

Amy Ellis is the same creative soul who brought us the Blogger’s Quilt Festival. I participated in several of those events over the years and always thought they were a super fun way to connect to and get to know other quilters! You can see my posts for those events here.

Hop on over to Instagram and get to know me, and lots of other great quilters, better!

My Favorite Things 2016!

My Favorite Things 2016 Block of the Month sewhooked.com

I’ve been teasing the 2016 Sewhooked project for some weeks now and I just can’t wait another day!

Beginning January 1, 2016 and each month for the rest of next year, I will be sharing My Favorite Things!

My Favorite Things will include 12 patterns to paper piece in both 6″ and 12″ as well as a number of bonus blocks to mix and match your own favorites.

On the first day of each month, you’ll have the opportunity to download that month’s pattern for free. After the first day, each pattern will be available for a small fee from my Craftsy Pattern Shop, with the entire block set available for sale by December.

I plan to include instructions for at least one possible layout to create a quilt from your blocks, but knowing me, I will have more than one by the time we get to December!

I hope you’ll join me in 2016 for what I hope will be a super fun event!

Summer of Stitching 2014, A Design Invitational on fandominstitches.com

Over on Fandom In Stitches, we have shared an open invitation for our summer event, The Summer of Stitching!

This event is an opportunity for new and experienced Designers alike to share in our fandom love by creating patterns to share with the Fandom In Stitches quilting community. We will be sharing 12 themes over the course of the summer and invite you to design a quilt block around that theme.

My first #summerofstitching design in progress! #jeremybrett #sherlockholmes #fandominstitches #embroidery

The first week’s theme? Sherlock Holmes! I’m already working on my pattern, which is based on one of my favorite all-time versions as portrayed by Jeremy Brett.

You can read more about how to participate and the fun prize participants will be eligible to win right here!

Featured Pattern: Bicycle!, just $2.95 on Craftsy!

Two Dollars in March

If you have visited my Craftsy shop, then you’ll know that the grand majority of the individual blocks I’ve designed and shared there are priced at $2. This has been the case since I first opened my shop.

My philosophy has always been to keep my prices as low as my little business can bear because I know what I myself, as a quilter and a shopper, think is a fair price.

It’s been several years now since I first started selling patterns and in order to keep up with the craziness that are PayPal fees, all $2 patterns will be going up to $2.95 in April. I do hope you’ll forgive me for this business necessity and I also hope that if there is a pattern (or patterns!) you’ve been thinking about getting, you’ll grab it now while it’s still $2!

The prices of entire sets will stay the same, so, as usual, buying patterns by the set will save you a significant amount.

I'm a Craftsy Designer

Find all of my for sale patterns

(and many of my free ones!)

exclusively on Craftsy,

including 72 individual block designs

that will be $2 for the rest of March!
