I’ve recently had a lot of requests for patterns formerly in my pattern shop. I retired from selling quilt patterns on December 31, 2019. If you would still like one of my retired patterns, I will offer it in return for a small donation to a food bank, non-profit, or other similar charity in your area. Volunteering your time, of course, counts! Email your receipt or photo (for me only, I won’t publish or) and I’ll gladly send the pattern. One pattern per donation. ♥

Last Call
This is the last call for those of you who would like to purchase from the Sewhooked Pattern shop.
I will be permanently closing my shop TODAY, December 31, 2019, at approximately NOON Central Standard time.
I’d like to share a huge thank you to everyone who has supported my efforts and independent design over the last decade and a half.
As a reminder, my free patterns will continue to be available, but I will no longer be selling patterns and my current For Sale patterns will no longer be available. Sewhooked will continue to be my crafty home, but will no longer be a business. For more information, please see last week’s Talk to Me Tuesday.
See you later today in my video. Love and best wishes for a Happy New Year! ♥

Closing Time
Dear friends, in case you missed my last video, this was my big announcement: I will be closing up the Sewhooked Pattern shop, hosted on Etsy, on December 31st.
I’ve had a blast designing and selling over the years. I registered Sewhooked as a business back in 2006 and I’ve been working at it ever since. I’ve sold patterns to magazines, & websites, but most of all, I’ve sold them independently through a changing landscape of internet sales and to a variety of quilt stores.
A lot has changed, both personally and in the quilting world, since I first started in this business as an independent designer. What has become increasingly clear to me is that it’s time for me to move on to other adventures. I’m not leaving quilting or crafting, but I am closing up shop and will no longer be actively designing and I will no longer be selling patterns. There are lots of reasons, some of which I talk about on last week’s Talk to Me Tuesday.
Some important points: I’m not “leaving” or going away. Sewhooked.com will continue to exist and will still be a quilt and craft blog, but it will no longer be a business.
My free patterns, including all of those on Fandom In Stitches, will continue to be available. I will still run fandominstitches.com, but will be looking for more help to keep the website up-to-date and the Facebook communities blossoming.
2020 will be a year for contemplating what’s next and how to best be the person I choose to be.
Now through noon on December 31, 2019 is your last chance to purchase the patterns listed in my shop.
Thanks for the love and support all the years! 💜

Surprise! New pattern – Signs Signs Signs
Surprise!
Guess who has been working on a new pattern in between all the other craziness?!
You guessed it!
Some time ago, Robin B. made an amazing suggestion that I have had in the back of my mind ever since – a multi-directional signpost.
With all the travel I’ve been doing this year, I absolutely could not resist designing this one. I did a little research and a little sketching. I worked up a pattern and sent it off to my pattern testers.
It is now tested and ready to share!
This awesome, versatile pattern is perfect to express your wanderlust or to point to where your loved ones are, or maybe share your favorite fandom locations. Think fabric with existing text, hand or machine embroidery, stenciling, fabric markers, the list goes on!
Find Signs Signs Signs in both of my online shops:
$3.95 on Craftsy
or
$3.95 on Etsy
10″ x 30″ (10 1/2″ x 30 1/2″ with seam allowance) as shown, made using three paper pieced blocks.
Need more signs? Duplicate and rotate the center block! Add to larger projects or make as is for a fun wall hanging.
Includes full-color instructions with fabric amounts, suggestions, and paper pieced pattern.
And here is Amber’s fantastic tested version! She has big plans for this and I can’t wait to share what she does!
If you try your hand at this pattern, I’d love to see what you do with it over in the Sewhooked Facebook Group! Not on Facebook? Tag me on Instagram (@sewhookedjen) or Twitter (@sewhooked)!
Thank you for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend! 😀
See you soon!

After a year or more out of the spotlight (and out of the shop!), I’ve updated Night’s Reverie for 2016!

This fun pattern was originally created in 2010 as a way to teach my local students how to freezer paper stencil.
This is a great pattern to practice stenciling and it now includes the option to hand embroider the design if you’d prefer.
With just a few elements, you can finish this simple wall hanging in no time!

Sewhooked: Jumping In With Both Feet
Grandma’s House Quilted Potholder Set
It’s been a while since I talked about my business. I post a lot of crafts and patterns and, of course I talk about Harry Potter (no, no…really!?).
Sewhooked is not just the name of my site and business. It’s become a community of crafty people that are near and dear to me. As you probably already know, I design and sell quilt patterns. What you may not know is that I also sell hand crafted items, including custom-made buttons and hard-copies of my patterns on Etsy. All of my available patterns are ready for instant purchase and PDF download in my shop here on Sewhooked. For quilt shop owners, my patterns are also available for wholesale purchase. Email me for details.
After a year of working on Sewhooked part time, I’ve decided the time has come to try my hand at running my business full-time. Up until now, I’ve worked on Sewhooked whenever I have time, squeezing in minutes here and there between other things.
At the end of the summer, all that will change. I’m leaving my part-time job at the quilt store where I work and am going to take a session off from teaching to build my inventory and focus on my business. There have been some changes in my life recently which make me feel the time is right to work hard, to work longer and to make Sewhooked everything I want it to be.
What can you look forward to? Well, more patterns, for sure! Creating patterns is my first love, and there are lots of ideas rolling around in my brain, just waiting for their chance to make an appearance. I’m tentatively planning a Block of the Month quilt for my shop next year, which I would love to be guided by those that would like to participate. More on that once the Project of Doom has wrapped up.
There will also be new hand-crafts available through Etsy. After a brief hiatus, Custom 1.5″ Buttons are back, including optional graphic design services. Soon, I’ll be adding grab bags of fabric from my crazy-huge scrap stash, as well as limited edition cards featuring photos of some of my quilts.
Photos in this post include some of the items currently available for sale through Etsy. PDF Downloads are here.
Tree Trimming, Hard Copy Version
What kind of quilt patterns are you looking for? What handcrafts would you be interested in seeing on Etsy (keeping in mind that I do not sell items made from my Harry Potter and other fandom patterns out of respect to the authors/creators)?
I’d love to hear from you!
Add your Sewhooked photos to my flickr group and you might be featured in a future post!
