Welcome to my post for Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, vol. 11 Blog Tour! I’m thrilled that you’re here and I’m super-duper extra excited to share my 6th 100 Blocks pattern!
Be sure to keep reading to the end to find out how to be entered to win today’s prizes!

Introducing Sandbox Sisters! These two little gals are inspired by two of my friends, Amber & Jewells. Love ya, ladies!
You can find the Sisters hanging out on the top left side of page 25.

If these girls remind you of Sunbonnet Sue, that’s because she’s one of my absolute favorites to design! I love her so much, she and her friends have an entire page right here on Sewhooked.
I used Kona cotton for the background and lots of fun scraps for the rest. I just love how their little shovels and sandals turned out!

This is what the girls looked like before I made them in fabric.
Just like all of my patterns, this block was designed in EQ.
And now, I have the pleasure of giving away not one, but two prizes!
First up is a free issue of Vol. 11 directly from Quiltmaker!
The second prize will come directly from me and includes a beautiful bundle of fabric courtesy of Debbie B. and two of my own patterns. I’m so excited to be able to give such gorgeous teal fabric away! Big thanks to Debbie for being so very generous! 🙂
Two enter to win BOTH the free issue of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Vol. 11 AND the Sewhooked prize, just comment below and let me know what your favorite spring activity is!
Only comments that include contact information will be eligible to win. Winners to be contacted Saturday, May 9, 2015.

Welcome to my FIFTH blog tour for Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, I am so excited you’re here!
Be sure to read to the end to learn how you can win a free copy of the magazine.
My block for this issue, Jewels of the Wind, can be found on page 31. This block is extra special because it was inspired by my best friend, Jewells.

She lives in Albuquerque, and fall for her means hot air balloons filling the sky! This amazing photo was taken in Albuquerque by Marvin on Flickr.
See Jewels of the Wind there on the bottom left? This never gets old!
Jewels of the Wind was designed in EQ7!
Here we are, on page 31. This is the version of Jewels of the Wind that I made to share in Quiltmaker’s special videos about Volume 10. Volume 10 means there are now ONE THOUSAND BLOCKS. Isn’t that fantastic?!
Check out the 100 Blocks, Vol. 10 Pinterest Board for more great photos & videos!
I was thrilled to see Jewels of the Wind pop up in the Block Tester’s Gallery on page 94. This sweet summer quilt by Anita Jones includes several of the 100 Blocks from this issue.
More fun colors!

Welcome to Sewhooked and thanks for stopping by for the Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Blog Tour for Volume 9!
If it’s your first visit to Sewhooked, welcome! If you’re an old friend, welcome back!
This is a super exciting day for me. Not only do I completely love my design for this issue, but it’s the fourth time one of my blocks was chosen for 100 Blocks, which you have to admit, is super happy-making!
Be sure and stick around to the end for TWO awesome giveaways!
Here it is, my delicious block, Yum Yum Strawberry Cake! You can find it on page 38.

This part never gets old for me!
Yum Yum, Strawberry Cake was born from a sketch of cake. It was just a doodle really. I was having coffee, and as I tend to do, was doodling as I talked. And then there was cake!
This particular block was made using a variety of fabrics from my stash. There’s a little Michael Miller, some Moda and some Timeless Treasures, as well as a few miscellaneous scraps for the stem. Maybe we should say Yum Yum Fabric!
To add a bit of interest, I decided a declaration of the deliciousness of cake was in order! I use a variety of methods to transfer embroidery to fabric, but for this project, I decided Saral wax free paper would work best. It comes off fairly easily, so it isn’t great for highly detailed embroidery, but it’s perfect for something simple and fast like “yum yum.”
You can find Saral paper on Amazon or at your local arts & crafts supply.
Here’s what the traced word looks like. Perfect for stitching!

While working on my design for Yum Yum Strawberry Cake, I kept coming back to the idea of placemats. How fun, how easy and how very summery! I created four coordinating placemats with four different cakes in similar styles. You can find this photo in the same issue of QM, page 20.

I can’t even begin to tell you how happy these placemats make me! I hope to be able to share instructions for them very soon!
And now, the part of this post you’ve been waiting for…
The GIVEAWAYS: I have not one, but TWO giveaways today!
To enter BOTH giveaways: leave a comment letting me know what your favorite dessert is. Easy right?!
You must share contact information with your comment to be eligible to win.

First of all, I have a copy of 100 Blocks Vol. 9 for one commentor that will come directly from Quiltmaker! The winner for this issue will be chosen on Sunday, May 4. Because this issue comes from Quiltmaker, I will need to hear back from the winner ASAP or the issue will go to the next name drawn.

Next we have a giveaway directly from Sewhooked! The winner of my drawing will receive a fabric bundle and a copy of my Texas Twofer Collection!

Share your Paper Piecing Vintage photos with the Sewhooked flickr group in April and you’ll have a chance to win a copy of Quilts From 100 Blocks, Fall 2013 (includes a pattern designed by me!) as well as copies of my patterns Poppies from the Past and My Kitchen Window!
Winners for both 100 Blocks giveaways and for the Paper Piecing Vintage drawing announced on Monday, May 5!
Thanks so much for stopping by. If it was your first time, I do hope to see you again!
Until then, happy stitching!
