I’m delighted to share a new(ish!) pattern!
A version of this pattern (above), originally known as Braided Kaleidoscope, was published in a magazine many years ago. The magazine went out of business and the copyright has reverted to me. Because it’s not been available for some time, I thought it would be fun to update the pattern for 2017 (almost 2018!), turn it from a single block into a quilt, and share it with you!
While the piecing hasn’t changed, the color HAS. The new version is colored quite differently to create a new effect. It’s also designed to make a 46″ quilt.
Make it scrappy, soft, or bright. Whatever works best for you!
Pattern includes fabric amounts, paper pieced pattern units, coloring page, and instructions to make the quilt shown here, all for just $4.95.

Hi, I am getting up the courage to take on the Project of Doom, Harry Potter bookcase. I plan on making 2, one for me and another to donate to “Festival of the Trees” a charity that earns money for the “Primary Children’s Medical Center” in Salt Lake City Utah. The quilt will be auctioned off and 100% of the proceeds will be used help children in the region receive medical care. Is this okay, and do you want me to put your name on the label as the designer? I am so nervous and yet so excited. Susan R Jones
Yes, absolutely, that is okay. I would very much appreciate being credited as the designer. Best of luck, I hope it raises lots of money for the medical center!
