These birds were inspired by a design I created some years ago, but never published. It wasn’t quite right, but I loved the birds! If you look closely, you’ll see the “Momma” bird from Paddlin’ is sitting on the ground, while the “babies” are up on the line.

Just for fun, I put together a small quilt idea using four blocks,, two of which are in mirror image. I just love the wreath-inside-a-window effect!

Just like all of my patterns, Paddlin’ was designed in EQ7.

My Favorite Things – May

Welcome back to Sewhooked for the May installment of My Favorite Things, my 2016 Block of the Month!

My Favorite Things includes 12 brand new patterns to paper piece in both 6″ and 12″, as well as a FOUR BONUS BLOCKS to mix and match your own favorites!

These patterns are MY Favorite Things, but I very much hope that you will find some of your favorite things in the mix.

***IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT HOW THIS BOM WORKS***

The first day of each month in 2016 is FREE PATTERN DAY. At that time, you can download* the monthly BOM pattern for free from 8am CST on the 1st to 8am CST on the 2nd (i.e. 1/1/16 – 1/2/16). After that time, each pattern will be available for $2 from my Craftsy Pattern Shop. Bonus blocks will be included at no additional cost every three months.

*Please note that you will need to save or print on Free Pattern Day . The free pattern link will expire after 24 hours.

Since I was a kiddo, crayons have been one of my absolute favorite things. I still keep a box on my desk and they do come in handy!

Signature Quilt Invite:

If you’ve played along with me before, then you know that I ADORE signature quilts and always invite event participants to share a signature block to be included in a special keepsake that I keep.

You are very sweetly invited to make a Signature Block for the My Favorite Things Signature Quilt!

Choose YOUR favorite 6″ block from My Favorite Things & make it with the fabrics of your choice. Add your name and location. Names can be hand or machine embroidered, added with fabric paint or pen. Please, no iron-on transfers.

This is not required, but it is much appreciated!

6” blocks are due January 31, 2017. This will give you plenty of time to pick your favorite block! Don’t worry, I’ll share lots of reminders along the way.

Each layout lists fabric amounts for four quilts using either 6″ or 12″ blocks with and without Bonus Blocks.
