Free Pattern Friday – Applique?!

Welcome back to Free Pattern Friday! I’m back today with something ALL TOO SHOCKING – A free applique pattern!

If you’ve been around awhile, you may remember the Smiling Santa Gift Bag tutorial I shared some time ago right here on Sewhooked.

Years ago, I would make these sweet felt gift bags for the kiddos in my life. Santa was one of my favorites, but I also made quite a others, too!

Here’s a photo from WAY BACK in 2000. Whew, thank goodness that Millineum thing turned out okay. 😉

For this design, I’ve taken my hand-drawn Rudolph templates, played with them in EQ8, and created a 10″ pattern to share.

Please be gentle with me. Designing applique using the software is brand new to me.

Welcome back to Free Pattern Friday! It’s been awhile, my friends!

Now through the month of December 2018, all of my for sale Winter and Christmas themed paper pieced patterns are on sale in my Etsy shop! Please note this is ETSY only and not available on Craftsy.

I thought this would be a great time to revisit my FREE winter and Christmas themed patterns, too. My freebies can be mixed and matched freely with the paid pattern sets.

Free Pattern Friday – Sailor Hat

Today’s pattern was a special request from Sylvie, who needed a simple Sailor’s Hat.

I didn’t have time to try this one out myself but was lucky enough to have some willing testers, including Sylvie. Thank you to everyone who helped!

Sailor Hat is 6″ x 10″ finished with instructions to make it 10″ finished by adding simple sashing.

WAY back in 2013, I designed Bunny Peeps for a Blog Hop.

Ever since sharing this cutie pie pattern, I’ve had many, many requests for Peeps Chicks.

Thank you to the anonymous person who left a message reminding me of that fact. 😉

This isn’t my first go at designing these squishy little sugar bombs. I’ve scrapped more than one version of this pattern after unsuccessfully capturing their Peep-ness.

I’m pretty sure I’ve got it this time!

Chicks come in 2 sizes, 2.5″ x 5″ (finished) and 5″ x 10″ (finished). Make one or make a flock!

Free Pattern Friday – Soda Can

Hello, my friends!

Today I have a fun and SUPER easy pattern to share. Inspired by my hubby’s love of fizzy water, I present Soda Can, a new free pattern to paper piece.

What do you call a syrupy sweet carbonated beverage where you’re from? Coke? Soda? Pop? Do you have a favorite flavor? I don’t drink a lot of carbonated beverages, but when I do, I’m partial to Diet Dr. Pepper!

One can is 5″ x 10″ finished (5 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ with seam allowance).

Make 2 Soda Cans for a 10″ block.

Hello, my friends!

I’m back after a bit longer of a hiatus than I had planned. Travel and then sickness kept me away, but I’m finally starting to feel a tiny bit better.

Today I’ve dusted off two patterns that were languishing in my archive folder. Wonky Logs date back to before I owned Sewhooked. Here they are, updated for 2018. Both patterns are super simple to paper piece and finish 6″

Free Pattern Friday – Hearts Go Round

February is here and I’m feeling the love!

I have had a long romance with heart-themed quilt blocks. Today’s free pattern is no exception!

Hearts Go Round is a 10″ (10 1/2″ with seam allowance) block to paper piece. Made from 4 – 5″ hearts, this sweet floral design is easy to piece and easy to put together.

I’ve added some fun photos for inspiration, too!
