Holiday Blah (TTMT #861)

Dear friends, I had a rough week with very little mojo, and I don’t have a single thing to show. I hope that whatever you’re doing, you can take a moment to slow down and breathe deep.

Jeans of a Different Color (TTMT #860 Crafty & Quilty Show and Tell)

Time for something completely different! This week, I share a pair of jeans I dyed using a jeans kit by RIT (Back to Blue), talk briefly about screenprinting, and mention an old favorite, Tree Trimming.

Watch a 37-year-old baby talk about Tree Trimming. The a/c was out in our house, which used to happen A LOT! Email sewhooked at gmail for the free pattern through December 31, 2025.

There are lots of resources online showing how to use a Cricut cut or other stencil for screen printing. I used info from Pigskins & Pigtails (which I managed to say in reverse during the video).

Stockings! (TTMT #859 Quilting & Sewing Show and Tell)

Happy December, friends! I finished the stockings I’d mentioned previously. They are made entirely from my stash and came out even better than I imagined! I’ve also got one tiny ornament to share that will be heading out in the mail with a reindeer later this week.

Ridwell for fabric and other unusual recycling.

Stocking tutorial + free pattern from Amy Smart. (I used her instructions but not the pattern.)

Tree Skirt Finish! (TTMT #858 Quilting & Sewing Show and Tell)

This week, I’m excited to share that I finished our tree skirt! The final quilted and bound skirt is a hair over 51″, made using 4″ (4.5″ cut) squares. I LOVE how this project came out and am looking forward to working on some new stockings next!

Stay to the end for a sassy blue jay birdbath!
