As a thank you to my wonderful Ko-Fi supporters, I wanted to share some extra free content in December.
Today’s share is one of my most popular paper pieced sets ever, Holly Jolly.
I originally designed this set for a book I was contracted to create way back in 2008. Sadly, that book was canceled and, despite many tries, I was never able to sell it to another publisher. That was the impetus to my turning Sewhooked into a pattern company. I published my patterns independently both online and in print for sale through quilt stores until 2019.
Bonus Santa was added a few years before I stopped selling pattern because he was just too cute not to share!
This pattern and many more have been retired an unavailable since 2019. Now, this sweet little set is yours to make for free!
Holly Jolly includes:
Lil’ St. Nick, Lil’ Mrs. Claus, Wonky Lil’ Christmas Tree, Santa’s Helper, Wee Lil’ Penguin, and bonus pattern, Santa with his Bag.
Thank you for stopping by. I’m really enjoying the opportunity to share free patterns again. If you make this or any of my other patterns, let me know: drop me an email or tag me on Instagram @sewhookedjen.
I hope to see you for my next Talk to Me Tuesday vlog! If you haven’t joined me for TTMT, be sure to stop by to say hello to yours truly and catch up on what I’ve been working on. Want to join the TTMT community? Find out how here!

This week, I share a fun fabric Christmas tree that I made for my husband’s white elephant exchange at work and the beginning of a new Christmas quilt. Thank you to my awesome Ko-Fi supporters, and everyone who comments, subscribes, and likes! You’ve given me an awesome YouTube year! ♥

Topsy-Turvy trees was originally designed in 2012 for my online pattern shop. This pattern was retired in 2019 and it’s now free for your personal use!
Below you will see the version of this quilt that I made. I loved working with all the different greens!

This week I’m sharing the second and third finished charity quilt. Those will be going out to Jewells for Project Linus in Albuquerque later this week. I also talk about some new cards I designed and made using my Cricut, and a super fun and funky placemat for future quilt retreats!
This week finds me quilting again…AT LAST! I have one small charity quilt finished, and two more quilted. All three will go to Project Linus in Albuquerque via my bff Jewells! The floors are done and the downstairs is almost fully functional again. YAY!
Y’all, I finished my quilt top! I’m so pleased with the scrappy lavender and cannot wait to get it quilted! All patterns can be found on fandominstitches.com. I also ramble entirely too much about house stuff, but quilt machine reassembly is imminent and I am EXCITED.
The fabric I show was purchased at Hip Stitch. Their clearance sale ends November 22. Not sponsored, just a VERY supportive best friend. 😉
Today I share a little bit of progress on my What We Do in the Shadows quilt (all patterns on fandominstitches.com) and a stand mixer cover I made for my eldest kiddo (pattern from sewcanshe.com).
Our downstair flooring update is in progress. I’ll try to remember to share a before and after next week. I’m already in love! Our old floor was painted concrete. Anywhere we had a rug was especially beaten up!
I forgot to share in my video that I did manage to pull together a Halloween costume last week! My younger kid and I went to Savers and I dug through the formal dresses until I found a red dress that was a little too big. I added some accessories from Savers and a black jacket out of my own closet. All I was missing was vampire fangs! Oh, and I am absolutely wearing my red sneakers under that dress. 😉
Big thanks to my Ko-Fi supporters for your support of this free content. ♥
This is week 3 of sharing new patterns inspired by the What We Do in the Shadows FX TV show!
Reminder: this is a mature-themed show and is not for kiddos!
Below you’ll find my final three What We Do In The Shadows inspired patterns to paper piece, as well as the optional finishing instructions I’m using for my own quilt. I do have several other ideas for this fandom and I hope to get back to it soon. As a reminder, these patterns are free for your personal and non-profit use.
