Welcome to Day 12 of Sewhooked’s Paper Pieced Pattern-A-Day Garden Party Blog Hop!

Today’s pattern, Garden Party, comes to us courtesy of my dear friend, Cat Magraith, a prolific Fandom In Stitches designer.

*Jennifer’s note: Cat’s pattern prints at 5″, to be enlarged by 200%. An easy way to do this is to print the pattern, cut the pieces apart, and enlarge them on a copy machine in sections.

From Cat:

We often have parties in our back garden and will often light candles in lanterns and hang them from the trees and veranda. I thought of nothing nicer for the party than a Victoria Sponge cake, although i have shown this version as iced with cherries or berries on top. To add to the sense of Spring I’ve added a little butterfly. My birthday is also in Spring, but being in the southern hemisphere is in a different time of year, but we will often get butterflies about the place for a party. Most of the butterflies i get in my garden are an orange colour, so i’ve made my butterfly orange.
