Today, I share another favorite, Trick-or-Treat Sue! Originally designed for a Halloween blog hop, Sue has stuck around as the official Sewhooked Trick-or-Treater!
She makes up at 10″ (10 1/2″ unfinished), but you can have her in any size you like by using my handy dandy Enlarging and Reducing Tutorial!)

For 31 Days of Halloween, I will be sharing something fun for each day of October.
Since I am a quilt pattern designer and a huge Harry Potter fan, you can expect that some of my days will be a little more, well, themed, than others. There will be some new content mixed in with fun revisits to some of my favorite free projects.
Fridays will be dedicated to sharing fun Halloween-themed patterns for sale in my Craftsy store (because a girl does have to make a living) and Tuesdays will remain, as always, for my video show & tell Talk to Me Tuesday.
Every other day of the month will include something FREE AND FUN!
Without further ado, let’s get started! Originally created for my daughter’s Harry Potter birthday party way back in 2003, Easy Cauldron Cakes go together in no time and would be perfect for a fast Halloween party treat!
Bake the cupcakes of your choice in silver (or black!) cupcake wrappers.
Add a dollop of your favorite frosting for potion (I used a cookie dough scoop!) in the color of your choice.
Top with Halloween or other decorations (optional).
Black licorice whips or Twizzlers make a great handle.
Optional: sprinkle Pop Rocks on top before serving!
If you’ve been keeping up with my weekly Talk to to Me Tuesday videos, then you know that I recently had the great pleasure of creating a surprise swap for Vanda, TTMTer and Fandom in Stitches Designer. Because she and I are both big Star Trek fans and I decided to create a fun wall hanging out of one of my favorite hand embroidery pieces, the Picard Quote Sampler.
I designed a simple paper pieced block to combine with my Picard Quote Samper. The two blocks together create a stylized Captain’s uniform for a simple but effective wall hanging. Ack! I love it so much!
Today I share a super packed video full of crafty and quilty goodness! Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and join me for 15 minutes of quilts, kittens and fun!
Heidi Kory at the EQ Blog shares a tutorial on combining rows as well as the EQ7 Row Along Block Library and Projects! Check that out here. Download the .blk library that includes most of the RAL designs free for the next 30 Days!

Today is your last day to enter the Northcott Bundle, a $25 Fat Quarter Shop gift certificate or a free copy of my very own Paper Piecing Vintage! Details are here!
Spring is my favorite season. The winter blues are driven away, the trees begin to bud, spring babies are born and the earth begins to turn green again!
My idea was to celebrate my favorite season with baby chicks, fresh out of their eggs, pecking around the grass and flowers for something good to eat.
Every pattern in my row is a 6″ (6 1/2″ unfinished) paper pieced block. Follow the instructions in the pattern to make this row, or mix and match to make your own fun row or other quilty project!
I’m absolutely loving the beautiful tonal white background fabric from Northcott! Anyone that visits regularly knows that I’m a bit of a Northcott junkie with Stonehenge being one of my all time favorite fabrics!
The entire row is paper pieced with optional embroidery or paint for the chicks’ eyes. I drew mine on using Tulip Fabric Markers.
Small pieces freak you out? Try chain piecing them!
PJ7 Pattern will be emailed upon request. Please contact sewhooked@gmail.com.
Another fun picture of my Spring row. 🙂
Want something completely different? The patterns for my row can also be turned into a fun quilt! I plan to make one very much like this for my favorite blanket charity, The Linus Connection.
PJ7 Pattern will be emailed upon request. Please contact sewhooked@gmail.com.
