TTMT #515 – Clover Do Over

2019 Fat Quarter Lotto

April is my birthday month and you’re invited to help me celebrate by participating in the 5th Annual Fat Quarter Lotto

It’s super easy – send up to four fat quarters & I’ll draw a winner (or winners) “live” on Talk to Me Tuesday on April 30, 2019. There will be 1 winner per 50 fat quarters. Last year we had two winners with 50 fat quarters each and one winner with 25 fat quarters!

Watch last year’s live drawing!

Want an extra entry? Include orphan blocks for The Linus Connection! The Linus Connection is an Austin, TX-based blanket making charity. I use orphan quilt blocks to make quilts to donate. I also share orphan blocks with fellow volunteers to make quilts. Any orphan quilt blocks collected will be turned into quilts for kids in crisis in Central Texas. This collection is personally done by me, Jennifer Ofenstein, and is not sponsored or endorsed by The Linus Connection.

The Sewhooked Fat Quarter Lotto is not a sponsored event and I am not eligible to win. This is just my way to say Thank You for another fun year of sharing! There is no purchase necessary and no obligation to play. I will pay for all return postage.

All entries must be received by April 29, 2019.

Free Pattern Friday – Stop Voldemort

free-pattern-friday

Welcome back to Free Pattern Friday!

In honor of twenty years of Harry Potter and my ongoing love of all things Harry, I’m celebrating with Harry Potter-inspired fandom patterns through July!

All of my (always free!) Harry Potter patterns in one place.

I’m almost positive I haven’t shared a new HP-inspired pattern since the reboot of The Project of Doom on Fandom in Stitches in 2015. Even so, I have continued to doodle and think about the series because there will never be any stopping that!

stop voldemort original.png

STOP Voldemort Sign (formerly located outside a high school in CA, photographer unknown)

Today’s pattern is a little bit different than my usual fandom-fare as it is based on an image seen in our very own muggle world (above). If you’re part of the Harry Potter fandom, you may remember this image going viral some years ago. While I don’t condone the vandalism, I do appreciate the sentiment and offer it here in fabric and with the possibility to create a version of your very own without committing a misdemeanor crime. 😉

STOP Voldemort is 10″ (10 1/2″ unfinished) and is entirely paper pieced. I highly recommend using an Add-A-Quarter or Add-An-Eighth ruler for accuracy. You can find more useful paper piecing links here.

You’ll also find today’s pattern posted to Fandom in Stitches, sister-site to Sewhooked exclusively for free fandom patterns designed by a plethora of amazing designers!

Did you know I’m now accepting pattern suggestions? Check out the Sewhooked Suggestion Box!

Paper Piecing Vintage – December (and we’re done!)

Paper Piecing Vintage with bonus pieced borders

This is it!

The big one…the one we’ve all been waiting for!

It’s hard to believe, but we have reached the finale of Paper Piecing Vintage!

Today’s update includes not only the final pattern, but the finishing instructions to turn each size block into a quilt using either 6″ or 12″ block AND an optional surprise bonus not included in the original design, the beautiful pieced border you see above!

It has been my great joy and honor to share this very special vintage-inspired Block of the Month event with you all. Thank you for shopping small and supporting an independent designer like myself! Your patronage helps to keep me designing and sharing both free and for sale designs.

Amber's PPV
And before we move forward with this last big PPV post, monumental thanks go out to my very good friend and consummate pattern tester Amber Lowery for testing each month’s pattern so it could come to you every month error free! This stunning black, teal and purple quilt with optional pieced border is her finished version!

And now…the final block in this 12 month block of the month!

Paper Piecing Vintage December

Today we have Spinning Puzzle. It looks complicated, but it pieces like a four patch and is super duper easy!

As with all the blocks from PPV, Spinning Puzzle is entirely paper pieced and both 6″ and 12″ patterns are included.
